Albariño is one of those ‘on trend’ grapes and its popularity is well deserved. Organic winemaker Pablo Parra has managed to produce good varietal typicity from this popular grape even this far south in La Mancha. Vineyard altitude and the cool nights in the region help maintain freshness and aromatics, and this white impresses with its zip and zang, fresh lemon meringue flavours and clean acidity. Great value for money here, and it also comes in a fun blue bottle with a label that changes colour once it’s been chilled.

ABOUT THE ESTATE

Certified organic since 1995, the Parra family’s pursuit came from the devotion of the three brothers Francisco, Javier and Luis, who founded their La Mancha property with the conviction to organically and biodynamically farm every vine under their care. The Parra family works two large vineyards in La Mancha, near the town of Las Mesas (The Tables) in central Spain, totalling 180 hectares. Delivering clean, honest wines grown in harmony with the land, Parra Jiminex wines are always good value and a natural wine lover’s hidden gem.
